Self-Esteem

About this Service

When we experience low self-esteem we are lacking self-regard. We may feel timid or apprehensive in social settings, perceive oneself as inadequate, or engage in harsh self-criticism. While some individuals with low self-esteem acknowledge their tendency to judge themselves excessively, others cling tightly to negative beliefs, perceiving them as absolute truths. Low self-esteem is very common and can increase our vulnerability to other mental health challenges. Thankfully, there are beneficial psychological methods to enhance self-esteem.

Wicklow and Kildare Mental Health will help you understand:

• What low self-esteem means

• Why it might not improve on its own

• Ways you can overcome low self-esteem
